The short answer
A thrusting vibrator moves the shaft for you, so your hand and wrist do not tire before your body gets there. For squirting, the useful part is not depth. It is a steady, rhythmic movement against the front wall of the vagina while arousal stays high. Choose the motion first, then the extras.
- Best for most people: Svakom Avery. A thrusting shaft with its own clitoral part, each controlled separately, in the $$ band.
- Best first thrusting rabbit: Lovehoney Happy Rabbit Thrusting Vibrator. Three thrusting speeds and a travel lock, also in the $$ band.
- Best for hands free strokes and partner play: Lovense Gravity. Real in and out thrusting with app control, no clitoral arm.
- Best come hither motion: Lelo Enigma Wave. The insertable arm waves against the G-spot area instead of sliding in and out.
- Best soft option: Lelo Ina Wave 2. A gentler wave in extra soft silicone.
- Best if suction is what works for you: Womanizer Duo 2. No thrusting, but air pressure on the clitoris and a curved vibrating shaft.
Whatever you buy, put a towel or a waterproof sex blanket on the bed before the first session. Not having to think about the mattress makes it much easier to let go.

How we chose these toys
We compared published specifications, shapes, materials and waterproof ratings from each brand's own pages and from retailer listings. We did not run lab tests, we do not score toys, and no brand can pay to move up this page. Every model was judged on the same points:
- Stroke and speed. How far the shaft moves and how many speed steps you get. A short, controllable stroke suits squirting better than a long one.
- Shaft curve. A clear upward angle near the tip, so movement lands on the front wall.
- Firmness. Enough body to hold contact while it moves, without being rigid.
- Clitoral part. Whether the toy keeps external stimulation going, and whether you can control it on its own.
- Noise. Thrusting motors are mechanical and you can hear them. That matters in apartments and shared homes.
- Waterproofing. Fully waterproof toys are easier to clean. A splash rating like IPX6 means no bath and no shower.
- Material. Body safe silicone over a solid core, no strong smell.
- Price band. Whether the extra money buys something you will notice.
Thrusting or wave motion for squirting
This is the question that decides the purchase. Classic thrusting moves the shaft in and out, so the tip passes over the G-spot area on every stroke. Many people enjoy the full, rhythmic feeling, and for some it is exactly what builds toward squirting. Others find that long strokes spend most of their time somewhere else.
When people describe what happened right before they squirted, the common thread is steady pressure and rhythmic stroking on the front wall, a few centimeters inside, while they were already very aroused. That is why a short stroke with a curved tip, or a come hither wave that stays in one place, often suits squirting better than deep thrusts. Lelo's wave toys are built around that idea. The Gravity sits in between, with a short stroke of about 3 cm.
Studies on squirting are small and bodies differ, so treat this as a starting point. If you have never used anything that moves on its own, a thrusting rabbit in the $$ band is a low risk way to find out what you like.

Things to check before you buy
- Stroke length. Short strokes stay on target. If a listing does not state it, look at photos of the shaft fully extended and retracted.
- Noise. Any thrusting mechanism is louder than a plain vibrator. If you share walls or a home, a wave toy is the quieter choice.
- Weight and grip. A thrusting toy pushes back against your hand. A base you can hold firmly, or a suction cup or mount, saves your wrist.
- Waterproof rating. Fully waterproof means you can wash it under the tap and use it in the bath. IPX6, as on the Gravity, only covers splashes.
- Charging. Thrusting drains batteries faster. The Avery runs about 1.5 hours per charge, which is plenty for one session but worth knowing.
- Travel lock. Useful if the toy lives in a bag or a shared drawer.
How to use a thrusting vibrator for squirting
- Empty your bladder first. The urge to pee is normal with front wall stimulation and it is easier to ignore when you know your bladder is empty.
- Protect the bed with a towel or blanket so you are not holding back.
- Warm up from the outside. Use the clitoral part, your hand or a wand on a low setting for several minutes.
- Use plenty of water based lube. Silicone lube can damage silicone toys, and our best lube comparison lists safe options.
- Start at the lowest thrust speed with the curve pointing toward your belly. Let the toy do the moving and keep your hand still.
- Keep clitoral stimulation going while the shaft works, and raise the speed only when the build up feels steady.
- When the urge comes, breathe out and relax your pelvic floor instead of tightening. Our guide on how to squirt explains this release in more detail.
Who should buy which thrusting vibrator
- You want to try thrusting without overspending: Svakom Avery, or the Lovehoney Happy Rabbit Thrusting Vibrator if you like a classic rabbit shape.
- You want a partner to take over, nearby or at a distance: Lovense Gravity, with clear consent about who controls what.
- You know long strokes do little for you: Lelo Enigma Wave, or a single arm toy from our G spot vibrator ranking.
- You are sensitive or new to internal toys: Lelo Ina Wave 2.
- You prefer to control the movement by hand: a weighted steel or silicone wand from our list of G spot dildos gives firmer pressure with no motor noise.
- Your strongest orgasms start at the clitoris: pair any internal toy with one of the best wand vibrators, or look at the dual models among our rabbit vibrators for squirting.
Cleaning, charging and safety
Wash the toy before and after every use with warm water and a mild, unscented soap. Thrusting toys have a joint where the shaft meets the handle, and fluid collects there, so clean that seam carefully. Keep the Gravity away from running water and wipe it down instead. Let everything dry fully before storage, and make sure the charging port is dry before you plug it in.
